UDERSTAND YOURSELF BETTER

Who We Are:

My Personality — which is how I project myself to the world as a person. It is my fundamental mood, attitudes and behavior pattern that I consistently project over a sustained period of time. There will be normal ups and downs in my behavior but these are really only short departures for brief periods from who I am fundamentally. Over the long-term the real me will prevail and be self-evident. My personality is in part inheritedand in part learned. There is an element of conditioning and role-modeling that has shaped who I am. But there are also underlying genetic traits that I can do little about assuming I would want to.

My Character — Character is that aspect of my person that reveals my moral self. Character is linked to conscience and a sense of right and wrong, evil and good. Character is dependent on three things:

Character is built on habits, practiced traits of thought and action that become second nature. They come to dictate how we will react or behave in specific situations in life.

My Physical Appearance — The aspect of self that is made up of flesh and bone that is largely inherited. Factors out of your control determined height, weight and eye color. Only through extensive work can aspects of the physical appearance be altered. Physical appearance can affect how one is accepted by others and how we project ourselves to the world.

My Physical Health — Our physical appearance is also an outward reflection of our physical and mental health. The person who has an illness or is suffering emotional problems such as depression will quite often have an outward physical appearance that bears witness to their internal struggles. Conversely, when we feel good we look good. We therefore should get regular checkups, exercise, and share your innermost thoughts with special people in your life.

My Spirit — There is something unique about humans, the whole is greater then the sum of the parts. There is something inside us that either grasps hold of life, making us enter fully into this existence, enjoying life and relishing all it has to offer, - or- it can lead us negatively away from life; making us withdraw, robbing us the joy of living. That thing is our spirit the very breath of life. To nurture the spirit one needs to be with people and do things they enjoy such as exercise, listen to music, and meditate or pray. If we don't we overburden the spirit and can suffer burnout and depression and actually lose the will to live.
