Time & Money
Most counseling sessions take place every two weeks and last 60 minutes. However, if it appears that we are not reaching your desired changes or goals quickly enough, or I observe behavior that concerns me, we may have to meet weekly for a short time. Also, if we are at a critical point in a session, the session may be extended to 90 minutes at no additional charge to you. The number of sessions needed varies with each person and problem, but typically I like to work in blocks of four to five sessions, with a review at the end of each block of sessions. My standard fee is $70 per session, but if necessary we have a sliding fee scale based on your ability to pay.

Note
- Insights Counseling also provides Psychological Therapy services under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Souliere. Fees for this service are $100.00 per session but are recoverable through most Extended Health Benefit plans.
- Lower rates can be negotiated where financial hardship is evident and there is a demonstrated commitment to the therapy - counseling process.
- The above fees are subject to change as dictated by operating expenses.
About Fees
Experience has shown us that people value things more when they have invested of their own time and money. There seems to be more of an incentive to work at the endeavor, and more sense of real ownership of the process. It is an investment in one's future well being.
Fees are our income source; they are essential to the carrying on of a professional practice. To be registered as a professional we must carry Professional Liability Insurance; be a member of a professional association that establishes minimum qualification standards and has an ethics review committee. As well we are expected to routinely update our education and knowledge base. This is really for your protection and benefit. As a person coming to us for assistance, you are expecting - and entitled to - quality counseling that is staying abreast of this evolving field of health care.
